Terms of service

Using the service

j1d.ca is free to use for anyone. No account, no payment. By shortening a link you accept these terms. If you don’t, please don’t use the service.

What you can’t do

We will remove short links, and block the IPs that created them, for:

  • Phishing, credential harvesting, or impersonation.
  • Malware, drive-by downloads, or exploit delivery.
  • Spam, unsolicited commercial traffic, link-farm abuse.
  • Content that sexualises minors, incites violence, or is otherwise illegal where the service operates.
  • Automated mass creation — there is a rate limit of 10 shortens per hour per IP; evading it by rotating IPs is prohibited.

Link permanence

Our goal is for every short link to keep working forever. That said, we make no promise of permanence. We may take a link down if it is abused, if the underlying destination becomes abusive, or if a legal request compels us. In rare cases, operational issues could cause a short outage.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. j1d.ca is not responsible for the content of the destinations its short links point at. Click through at your own risk.

Changes and discontinuation

We may update these terms at any time; the date at the top will change. If we ever need to shut the service down we’ll try to give reasonable notice on this page before doing so.

Governing law

j1d.ca is operated from Québec, Canada. Disputes arising from use of the service are governed by the laws of Québec and of Canada.
